About The Bruce Edwards Foundation

In April 2004, Bruce Edwards, longtime friend and caddy of PGA golfer Tom Watson, died from
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. In the last months
of his life, Bruce continued to work on the Tour and became the subject of the best-selling book
Caddy for Life, which detailed his career and his struggle with the disease.

The author of Caddy for Life, John Feinstein, and Hall of Fame golfer Tom Watson joined forces in 2005 to create The Bruce Edwards Foundation for ALS Research, which provides funds to
medical research facilities dedicated to slowing the progression of and finding a cure for ALS. This Foundation fulfills a promise made to Bruce by Tom to continue to fight to find a cure for this fatal disease.

The cornerstone of the Foundation is the annual Bruce Edwards Celebrity Golf Classic, an
annual day of golf held at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. The event includes
a panel discussion, dinner and keynote address, and live and silent auctions with one-of-a-kind
items and sports memorabilia. Since its inception in 2005 the Classic has raised more than $3
million for vital research. The primary beneficiary of the Foundation is the Robert Packard
Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins, one of the worldʼs leading ALS research facilities.
Scientists from around the world participate in the collaborative effort to find the causes of, and
treatments for, ALS. John and Tom are both recipients of the "Partner in Collaboration" award
from the Packard Center for their dedication to raising money for ALS research. Watson is
also recipient of the 2010 Byron Nelson Prize in recognition of his community service.
The Bruce Edwards Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with no paid staff. All
proceeds from the annual golf tournament and all donations go directly to the research and
medical facilities it supports.
